- Мультиплатформа — работает на чем попало, от вантуза до я хз чего, я даже и не знаю ирисы какие-то. Мне достаточно, что пашет в линуксах, во фряхе, а вантуз в топку.
- Очень быстр в плане своего кода, бережлив к ресурсам компа. Даже дистр Blender-а весит 35-50 мегобайт, распространяется в «чистом» виде, без горы материалов, примеров, рекламы и прочего говна. Этот факт, кстати, тоже отпугивает — что за современный 3d-пакет так мало может весить? наверное, шняга какая-то... Макс столько же весит, если выкинуть весь рекламный мусор. Макс раздувают для продажи, дескать вы покупаете не мало — 1.5 гига!!! А там 99% - мусор. Урезанный, «портативный» макс, со всеми своими материалами и плагинами болтается по торентам в размере 160-200 метров.
- Blender не считает вас идиотом, потому не боится быть сложным для изучения. Ему плевать, что вы о нем думаете. Это важный момент. Для комфортной работы мало хорошего красочного интерфейса с большими яркими кнопками для идиотов, а нужно еще чувствовать себя понимающим работу той или иной функции. (Опять аналогия с линуксами: хочешь заставить работать как надо, сначала изучи принципы). Почему? Потому что, например, вряд ли вы будете доверять врачу-нейрохирургу, который не может быть фельдшером, т. е. тупо неспособен принять роды. Все связано.
